License Types
There are a number of ways of buying software applications, for Microsoft products these are:
| OEM |
Software that comes with new hardware benefits from reduced prices as the license is tied to the hardware it is supplied with. So if you buy OEM Microsoft Office and you redelpoy the computer you are NOT permitted to reinstall the software on your new PC.
OEM - Original Equipment Manufacturer
|
| Retail or FPP |
Software in retail packs is more expensive than the same software in an OEM offering, you do benefit by being able to install the software on a new computer, this does require that you aren't still using it on the old computer.
FPP - Fully Packaged Product
|
| OPEN |
There are a number of different schemes under the OPEN umbrella, offering range of features, benefits and payment options.
